About the Position

Do you have experience in transitioning a small tax accounting firm to a mid-size firm? Does working in a small team appeal to you? Would you feel at home in a company that values input and hard work? We are looking for a results-driven Financial Manager/Director who can support the organization by delivering to established business metrics, specifically in the areas of growth and profitability.

Responsibilities include leading, overseeing, and mentoring the Internal Audit team, Tax Account Management teams, and interenal and external bookkeeping teams; working closely with the Managing Partner to define, implement, and update SOPs; coordinating process improvement initiatives; ensuring that records are current and complete; and producing monthly reports with insightful analyses for the Managing Partner and the CEO. Success in this position requires keen attention to detail, collaborating with team members, and aligning interactions with the Firm’s mission, vision, and values.

Your KPIs:

· 95% tax client retention year over year

· 100% billable hours of all resources on ongoing basis for each account

· 100% documented engagements for all new and existing accounts

· 100% documented SOPs

Your qualifications:

  • current Canadian CPA designation required
  • At least 5 years of Canadian tax accounting experience, including AP/AR, bank reconciliation, payroll remittances, and HST returns
  • Experience working with QuickBooks and ProFile tax preparation software required
  • Track record of success in mentoring, team building, and talent retention in the industry
  • Track record of success in streamlining current procedures, and recommending and implementing process improvements
  • Excellent presentation skills to facilitate decision-making by executives
  • Strong technical skills to automate manual processes and upload mass data
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills to deliver on KPIs
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Building relationships with clients based on trust and respect
